Job Level:DirectorDescriptionBrazil Tax DepartmentJob DescriptionResponsible for the tax compliance function; tax accounting and reconciliation (Brazil and US GAAP); transfer pricing; and thin capitalization calculation.Position: DirectorResponsibilities:-Ensure compliance and accuracy of calculation and collection of corporate taxes (IRPJ, CSLL, PIS, COFINS, ISS) and withholding taxes.-Ensure compliance of preparation and timely filing of tax returns before the Federal and Municipal tax authorities, such as ECF (and CbCR), DIRF, EFD-REINF, DCTF, EFD PIS/COFINS, PERDCOMP, DES-IF and timely payment of taxes.-Ensure accuracy of tax accounting and reconciliation of tax accounts for Brazil and US GAAP; control and utilization of tax credits; maintenance of the tax system up to date in regards to tax law changes; collection and preparation of the documentation dossier to comply with the tax authorities demands on audits and tax litigations; remittance of information and documentation to the headquarters. -Preparation and review of quarterly and annual US GAAP tax packages.-Review of transfer pricing adjustments and Thin Cap calculation.-Monitor and review the tax compliance procedures.-Monitor and control of ongoing tax litigations.-Exposure to external auditors.-Communicate with NY Tax Department (verbal and written) explaining variances of tax provisions and effective tax rate.-Communicate with external tax lawyers with respect to ongoing tax litigations.-Coordinate the Intern?s tasks which includes but it is not limited to training, review and evaluation of their work.OrganizationQualifications required:-Degree in Accounting or Administration.-Mandatory knowledge in direct, indirect and withholding taxes.-Clear understanding of current corporate tax law and updates.-Technical expertise in tax accounting under US GAAP principles and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).-Understanding of deferred tax accounting and tax valuation concepts (FIN 48 and FAS 109).-Strong interpersonal skills to team cross-functionally and communicate effectively within a large, international, matrix organization.-Minimum of 4 years of tax experience in a multinational company or Big 4 public accounting firm-Language proficiency: fluent in English.-Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
