The Solution Engineer is responsible for providing pre-sales and post-sales technical support for Metro products for current and potential VIAVI Solutions LATAM customers through direct and indirect channels. The primary location for this position will be in Indianapolis, IN, however, the manager is open to this person sitting remotely. Responsibilities: Build/maintain technical relationships within the account(s) as agreed upon with VIAVI Sales Management and Major Account Team lead. Area of focus will be on cable products and customers within LATAM. Technical expertise in Ethernet / IP networks including sweep and balance of a network Proven competency in Transport measurements including but not limited to: 1G/10G/100G test sets, PDH/SDH test sets; Technical Expertise in primarily Transport Network but preferably also knowledgeable in the following technologies: Ethernet, IP, TWAMP; Experience in explaining the aforementioned technologies and measurement techniques to non-technical end-users in a clear and understandable manner. Provide technical assistance to AM’s and TM’s via correspondence, telephone conference calls and onsite visits to meet established revenue goals. Desire to have expertise in Monitoring System Develop and lead technical presentations in the field to further educate the LATAM market on relevant product offerings Act as the focal point for all technical sales activities relating to the specified named account(s). Continue to educate the Channel Partner’s, Reps, TM’s and AM’s on the product areas. Lead responses to issued RFP/RFI’s in the region Drive the product/feature enhancement requests for the specified named account(s) within VIAVI. Lead high level and detailed technical consultation for the specified named account(s) Assist marketing organization on developing the technical sales presentations and value propositions used by all sales teams and personally deliver these presentations and value propositions to customers when necessary. Assist Product Marketing and Development in identifying and prioritizing solutions required to meet customers’ demands. Perform in-depth and high-level technical presentations for the specified named account(s). Lead pilot, trial or proof-of-concept projects with the specified named account(s). Fully understand and be able to defeat competitive solutions. Participate in all system engineering tracking mechanisms QualificationsRequired Qualifications: 5+ years experience in Optical (Point to Point and Point to Multipoint) Networks with a strong technical background in it day to day operations 5+ years experience providing technical sales support in a solution oriented software and/or hardware environment. Demonstrated ability to effectively listen, solve problems and provide reassurance to internal and external customers. Proven track record contributing to the account team’s revenue targets. Successful history of driving results & recognized as a key contributor in his/her prior role Proven ability to effectively communicate with company executives and leadership team members The ability to define long term vision while keeping track of short term execution and results. The ability to give effective presentations and demonstrations to a diverse audience. The ability to communicate technical concepts to extremely technical and non-technical individuals.
